Hitchhiker
Well we went to the NEC Hobbycrafts exhibition in March and it was so great. DD took part in a Jumping Clay workshop and made an Easter Bunny, she did so well and the man who showed her what to do was so great with all the kids and explained things so well...
I was very good with my purchases... I bought 5 Lynette Anderson fabric fat quarters, some gorgeous Rowan wool pack and bits and bobs of buttons and cross stitch hangers :)
I received some money for my birthday so I purchased some lovely Mirasol Hacho wool from my LYS in Matlock
The colours are gorgeous and all handspun... So with the yarn I'm working on a great pattern by Martina Behm to make a Hitchhiker shawl, it's brill for beginners like me as it's largely garter stitch...
I've also been making some lip balm in coconut and beeswax, love making these as they seem to stay on your lips longer and so smooth with no chemicals etc..
Anyway, TTFN off to enjoy the sun and do a bit of stitching..

Completed WIPs
This week we've all been busy making... DD helped me make a Lemon and Poppyseed Madeira cake from the GBBO book after school and today I've just finished making her a knitted Hatty elephant from Lets Knit mag.... I've left it in a basket for her to spot when she comes home....
Update on Woodland Winter cross stitch...
As you can see I've come along quite nicely with the tree trunk on the right hand side... Am really hoping to get this top right third panel completed before I go to sewing show on 23rd March... fingers crossed!
Now I've completed the Milford Mouse I'm working on another project... just a sneaky peak photo but no details til later :)
Dinner tonight will be beef strips with pasta and tomatoes.. new recipe so see if it a winner with everyone... TTFN x.

Milford Mouse - Ta Dah!
Well hello there, sorry been a bit quiet on the blogging front... I've been extremely busy creating this little cutie...
Hope you like her ... I've poured my heart and soul into this project and there will be more to come...
She is a little town mouse from the village of Milford in the heart of Derbyshire. Her name is Millie and I've created her with my gorgeous Tilda fabrics and Erika Knight wool... mainly machine sewn but a lot of hand stitching is in there with her :)
If you are interested in taking her home with you she is for sale on Etsy (top right of my blog). Thanks so much :)

February Half Term fun
Well that's another half term been and gone! I know it was only a week but boy did it fly by... it was so great, a nice mix of family, home time and trips out...
At the start of the week we made pots and pots of marmalade, I love preserving food for eating later, so satisfying...
Then plenty of time at home making loads of things with DD and at the end of the week a day trip out to Hartington and a walk/bike ride to Parsley Hay which was very windy but lovely and sunny too..

Celebrations...
Yay! My other half was successful in getting his dream job! :) Soo exciting, he has been working soo hard to change from one profession to another and he's managed it in under 5 years :) To celebrate, at the weekend I made him his favourite pudding.... chocolate and cream profiteroles from this book....
This is how they came out .... they seemed a bit overly complicated to make from this book as I've previously made a Good Housekeeping version with lots of fiddly parts to actually making the choux pastry which I think needed have been...
But OH really liked them so that's all that mattered :)
I've just finished making a small Tilda whale for our bathroom and am so pleased with him... what do you think?

Update on Woodland Winter..
Well, over the weekend I've done quite a bit more of the woodland winter deer cross stitch picture... I'm trying to complete this section by the end of March..
It contains quite a bit of blending the cottons together and am loving getting back into it again...
I've also made 3 more storage buckets which are in my shop... I've made one kitchen bucket for storage all those cookie cutters - hope you like them...
